(By Telegraph.) ADDINGTON LIVE STuCK MAEKET. CHBISTCHUECH. February 3. The weather was fine and the attendance good. SHEEP. There was a large entry o£ store sheep. The demand was keen. 2-tooth crossbreds sold at 10s 4d to 12s Bd, station crossbred ewes 2-tooth T2s 4d to 12s 7d, do lambs 8s to 9s 7d, merino wethers 5s to 6s lOd, crossbred ewes mixed ages 8s lid. Fat sheep were in good demand and the prices of the last two weeks were folly maintained. Crossbred wethers fetched up to 16s, ewes to 14s fid, merino wethers to 13s 2d, ewes to 12s. In fat lambs, the entry was very large, and all good sorts sold well from 11s to 13s lOd, ' (cattle. A fair entry of fat met with a dull sale. Best bollocks realised £6 to .£6 15s, cows <£4 to £5 10s, heifers £4 to £S. A small number of stores were yarded. The: demand was far in excess of the supply. PAT CATTLE. 180 head were yarded. Competition was fairly active, but there was no improvement in prices.. Best bullocks brought £7 to £8 2s fid,,one pen extra heavy £9, medium to good £5 15s to £6 15s, lightweights £4 to £5 12s fid, best cows £6 to £7, medium £4 to £3 10s, inferior £2 10s to £3 J7a fid. PAT SHEEP. 2355 were penned, including 200 merino wethers. Competition was fairly active, last week’s prices being abontmaintained. Best crossbred wethers brought 13s to 14s fid, ordinary lls to 12s 9d, best do ewes 11s fid to 12s 9d, ordinary 9s 3d tolls, merino wethers 9s to 12s 9d. GRAIN. Wheat—The market continues fiat. Odd lots are occasionally being disposed of for feed purposes, but millers are not anxious to do any business, even at a drop of fid to 9d per bushel on prices ruling a few weeks ago. Most of the mills are closed. Quotations are nominal, say, for best milling 4s 3d to 4s fid, medium to good 4s to 4s 3d, inferior to medium 2s fid to 3s 9d, ex store (sacks weighed in terms.) Oats —Quiet, and the odd lots coming forward are difficult to place except at a redaction. Shipping is almost at a standstill, and millers are. doing little or nothing in the oatmeal line, so that the demand for milling sorts has almost vanished. The tone at the moment is not at all satisfactory.
