(Per Electric Telegraph—Oopyrig ht. ) (Special to Press Association.) (■Received II a.m., Feb. 2nd.) Paris, Feb. 1. The new French tariff is expected to increase the imports of English goods. (Per Press Association.) (Received 1 a.m., Fob. 3rd.) Sydney, Feb. 2. The St. Joseph Society have issued a circular to depositors, suggesting suspension of payment for three mouths, and that the payment of large deposits be extended to five years at yearly instalments. The directors state that the society is in a sound position, but that the assets are unrealisable, a state of affairs brought about by the recent financial panic.
London, Feb. 2. The London and Westminster Bank has issued a Western Australian loan of £250,000 at 4 per cent., at a minimum of 99. Tenders close on Monday. At the wool sales prices are steady and remain unchanged. Wheat has declined fid.
