Tenders for the city of Melbourne 4 per cent loan of £450,000 will be opened on Thursday. The minimum has been fixed at 103. The weekly returns of the Bank of England, published to-day, show the total reserve in notes and bullion to be £12,078,000, being a decrease of £1,000,000 as compared with the previous week. The proportion of reserve to liabilities is 341)6 per cent. New Zealand, 4 per cent inscribed stock 105|; 3| per cents, 95. New Zealand long berried wheat, 36s 3d, market firmer. No 1, best Scotch pig iron, f.o.b, in Clyde, 465. Sugar, German, firmer at 12s 3d; Java, quiet at 14s 6,1. Three months bills are quoted at 3|per cent.
