STORMY PASSAGE AND LOSS OF LIFE.
Sydney, July 2,
The barque Brunette, from Whangaroa, which was spoken off the heads, reports that she met with very severe weather on Sunday. The chief officer was washed overboard and drowned. The gale was so terrific that it was impossible to help him. The vessel was damaged, and the eck cargo had to be jettisoned.

Melbourne, July 2, A railway traveller named King while looking out of a window was decapitated by the open carriage door of the passing train.
