ACCIDENT TO THE CENTENNIAL,

Sydney, June 12,

The second officer was on the bridge at the time, and the passengers, aroused by the shocks, came on deck. There was great consternation, the boats were made ready for lowering, the engines were reversed, and the vessel got clear. An examination of the well showed that the steamer was not making any water, and it was therefore decided to continue on her course to Sydney. SHIPPING. Arrived—Otago, from New Zealand.
