Timaru A. and P. Association.
A meeting of the committee of the Timaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held on Saturday afternoon. There were 16 members present, Mr A. M. Clark, President, in tho chair. _ t A letter was received from the Hawke s Bay society advocating tho imposition of a license fee of £lO per annum for entire horses, tho amount obtained to be distributed in each district as premiums on the best horses.—lt was decided to discuss this subject at a general meeting of the association to be held on tho second Saturday in July.
The following were appointed a committee to revise the prize schedule for the next show President (to be convener), tho vicepresidents, Messrs E. T. Rhodes and H Ford, and Messrs J. Goldie, A, Grant, W Hay, J. King, T. Langdon, E. Kclland, C. N. Orbell, W. Pringle, and W. Quinn ; five to be a quorum. The committee will meet on the Saturday next after the general meeting in July. Messrs D. Sutherland, of St. Andrews, and J. Higginbotham, of Upper Paroora, were elected members. Accounts amounting to £lßl3s were passed for payment and the meeting terminated.
