Threatened Strike.
(By Telegraph.) CHRIS rOHURCU, June S. Another bootmakers’ difficulty is about to take place. Messrs Toomer Bros.’ employees threaten to go out on strike on Monday unless some trilling concession about the dinner hour is granted. Messrs Toomer B ros. decline, and have given the men notice that unless they return to work by the union, they can go. The men have till Monday to reply. Meanwhile 300 hands are thrown out of employment through the stoppage of Lightband Allen’s works which were closed to-day, and all wages paid up to date.
