THE MAITAI ENQUIRY.
THE OFFICERS EXONERATED. (By TELEGiurn.) AUCKLAND, June 8, The judgment in connection with the Maitai enquiry was given to-day by Dr Giles B.M. Be referred to the unsatisfactory fact that the rock on which the Maitai struck was not definitely located. There was no evidence before the Court to justify him in saying that Captain Dawson or his officers had been guilty of negligence. After the occurence great promptitude and calmness was shown, and no blame is attachable to any of the officers, who were fully exonerated.
