Some very prime halfbred sheep sent up from Dunedin realised from 17s 9d to 19s, which was the top price obtained, but several other good lines of sheep were sold at equally satisfactory rates. Wheat—The market is hardly so fiym, and loss business is transacted. There, is some demand for export, but shippers are.upablo to operate, their limits being too low to,meet the demands of sellers, and considering, the weak tone of the Home market, the. outlook for any immediate improvement in, values locally seems at present somewliaiidpubtful. Hillers continue to operate with caution, preferring to buy only just, sufficient for present requirements. Oats—The market continues firm gradually hardening. Bright thin-skinned sorts have been in excellent demand for milling. Medium to good feed are also i n good request for export and very few w ould have been now left in store if suitable freights could have been secured. Shippers are purchasing freely, being now satisfied that the quantity to band and yet to come forward will be along way short of last season’s yield, and not at all likely to he sufficient for the, requirements of the rest of the season. We quote prime milling 2s 9d to 2s lOd, best short feed 2s 7.'.d to 2s Bjd, medium to good 2s 7d to 2s 7jd, inferior 2a 5d to 2a 6id, eX store.
