The Freeman's Journal assumes a neutral attitude with respect to the proposal to abolish the office of Viceroy of Ireland, but protests against Prince Albert Victor being foisted on Ireland. The article concludes by saying that it is possible that the residence of the Prince of Wales in Ireland would have a beneficial effect.
