AUCKLAND, April 26
A deputation of solicitors waited on Mr Mitchelson and presented an influential petition praying the Government to reconsider the proposed removal of the Chief Judge of the Native Lands Court to Wellington. Mr Mitchelson promised to lay the petition before the Government, bub he held out no hope, as the removal was decided on at a full meeting of the Cabinet. The Chief Judge however, would bo in Auckland as often as in any other district, transacting his business in Wellington during the session.
