.- (By Telegraph.) BLENHEIM, April 23. An evident attempt to burn down the master’s house at the public school was made at midnight. Ihe fire was originated in the dining room at the back of the house ; the wall just under the window was burned, and the flames spread around the walla. r lhe family were absent in Nelson and only Mr Lucas’s brother was on the premises. He states he heard a heavy body fall and on running out of bedroom found the place iu flames; An alarm was given and the fire was qnickly subdued. The affair is very mysterious, for two hours later the building was discovered on fire in two other places. While young Lucas and a neighbor were running out to give the alarm the former fell in a fib. This time the building was destroyed. Some furniture was saved. It is a clear case of arson.
