(Received G p.m., April 14th.) RESULTS OP AN INTERVIEW. Sydney, April 14.
In the course of an interview to-day Mr James Mills, the manager of the Union Steam Shipping Company of New Zealand, said that ho believed that the proposed Canadian-Pacific railway route had not yet matured sufficiently to undertake the mail contract. Mr Mills said that he regards the San Francisco mail route as of the highest commercial importance to the colony. In reply to a question as to the Dunedin Exhibition, Mr Mills explained that the company of which he was the manager, hoped to arrange special facilities for residents of Australia making a tiip across to New Zealand.
