STARTLING TRAIN ACCIDENT.

THE DRIVER AND FIREMAN KILLED. (Per Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Per Press Association.) (Received 1 a.m., April 16th.) Sydney, April 14. The train from Junee Bay, when travelling round a curve near Laree, at a speed of thirty-five miles an hour, dashed into a mob of cattle. The engine went over an embankment, and also some of the trucks, but luckily the couplings between the trucks and the passenger carriages gave way saving the occupants of the latter from injury. Oakes, the driver of the engine, had his leg torn off, and the fireman (Ferguson) fell under the engine, both being killed. These were the only casualties with the exception of two of the passengers, who sustained slight injuries during the collision.
