The House of Lords has adjourned for the Easter holidays until the 30th instant. MONETARY AND COMMERCIAL. The weekly returns of the Bank of England, published to-day, show the total reserve in notes and bullion to be £14,426,000, being an increase of £90,000 over last week. The proportion of reserve to liabilities is 41-| per cent. Consols, 98i, ex dividend. New Zealand 4 per cent inscribed stock 103 j, ex dividend. The market is active, Autralian wheat ex store, is quoted at 40s ; New Zealand long berried, ex store, 39s 3d. The market is a little weaker. Copper is quoted at £39s 10s per ton, and tin (Straits) £93 per ton ; Australian, £94 per ton, Ho. 1 Scotch pig pig iron, f.o.b, in Clyde, 44s 3d per ton. TIMARU SHIP AT HOME. Arrived— Camana, barque from Timaru. THE LARGO BAY. The barque Largo Bay, bound for Auckland, which collided with the steamer Glencoe in the English Channel on Feb, 6ch, has undergone repairs, and having reloaded resumed her voyage to-day. ;the french chamber. A spy who has arrived here from the camp of the Mahdi reports that Ras Aloula, the Abyssinian commander, has been captured and beheaded and his head forwarded to the Mahdi. He also brings letters from missionaries at Khartoum, and Slatin Bey. ATLANTIC YACHTING. New York, April 12. The New York Yacht Oiub has accepted Lord Dunraven’s (?—) for the American Cup. OBITUARY.
