KINGSDOWN SCHOOL.

- CONGEST, The concert given at Ringsdown on Monday evening was an unqualified success. Notwithstanding the dampness of the evening the schoolroom was crowded, many being unable to obtain seats. Many also who had bought tickets were unable to attend on account of the weather. Refreshments were provided in a large marquee adjoining the schoolroom. The Timara Cily Band was also present and contributed not a little to the enjoyment of the evening. Mr Moody occupied the chair and the following programme was gone through .‘—Overture, City Band; duett, Messrs Foster and Martin; solo, “ Dorothy’s Answer," Miss Muster, (encored); solo “ Terence’s Farewell to Kathleen,” Miss Innis, (encored); sblo, “ The Boniney Lass,’’ Mr Martin; solo’, “If Fairy'Tales were True,” Miss L. Smith, (encored); solo, “ |}ajly Dell,” Mr Dickenson; (encored); solo “The Silver Rhine,” Miss Cuthert, (enoor3d);tnlo “MyiffighlandHomtforme,” Mr Hosie (encored); solo, Miss lonia (encored); solo “Our Jack’s come home again,” Mr Foster ; solo, •* That was not my fault was it f” Mies L. Smith ; solo, “The bonnie bills of Scotland,” Mr Hosie (encored); duet, “ Roy’s Wife,” Miss Innis and Mr Martin ; solo, “No Sir,” Miss Musker (encored); solo, “My Little Jessie," Mr Dickenson; Mr Byan’s comic song, which was loudly encored, brought the concert to a close, and the room was then cleared for dancing, which was kept op with great spirit till past midnight.
