FOOTBALL.

A scratch football match was played between members of the S.O. Football Club, on Saturday afternoon on the ground at Waimataitai, sides being chosen by Messrs Reid and Campbell. Two spells of 45 minutes each were played, the game being all in favor of Mr Eeid’s side,, the latter eventually winning by three goals and three tries to nil. Some very good passing and running was made on both sides, the members showing a marked improvement in the former art.

A match was also played on Saturday afternoon between the Wai-iti and Timaru Public Schools on the ground of the latter, and resulted in a decisive win for Wai-iti by two gaols and six tries to nil.
