[Received June 7,1884,1.30 p.m.] Equity Trial. Melbourne, June 7. The trial of the equity suit Bell v. Clarke, has been postponed until the 23rd instant. Sporting. For tho Marybyrnong Plate 108 horses have entered, and for the V.R.O. Derby, 125 have been nominated. A Spy Arrested. Bombay, June 6. Intelligence is to hand from Lahore in tho Punjaub, that a Russian Jew, who is suspected of being a spy, has been arrested there. In consequence of suspicious movements on his part, he has been conducted to Kurrachee, Scinde, where it is expected he will be released, on condition he leaves the country. Campaign Suspended. Cairo, June 6, The preparations which were in progress here for an autumn campaign to Sonakim, have now been suspended. Difficulties ArrangedConstantinople, June 6. Latest news from the island of Crete reports that the disputes between the Creton Christians and officials of the Porte, have been arranged and tho state of affairs is now quite pacific, and in consequence of the settlement arrived at, Pholiader Pasha, who recently resigned the Governorship of tho island, has now agreed to retain his office.
