The Government daylight parade of 0 Battery, N.Z.A., will be held on Thursday next instead of Wednesday as previously announced.

Here (says the “ Ashburton Mail") is an anomoly which should not exist, A merchant of this town requiring to send a parcel, weighing about three ounces, to Dunedin, took same to the railway station, and before booking it to its intended destination enquired the cost of conveyance. He was somewhat surprised on learning that the charge would he 3s lid. Not being satisfied with the exhortation tariff he took the packet to the post-office, and in answer to his question the potsmaster informed him that the cost, per Royal mail, would be Bd. It is needless to say that the gentleman iu question took advantage of the cheapest rate, and sent his parcel per post.

Orders to be accompanied with remittance. Solar Elixir, 5s 3d and 10s 9d per bottle, or in cases (12 bottles) £6 6s, Oriental Pills Is 4d and 5s 6d per box. The Pills forwarded by post on receipt of 18 or 66 postage stamps, according to the size box required. The tram cars stop at the corner of Durham street each trip for the convenience of passengers. —[Advt.]
