TIMARU—THIS DAY. (Before F. LeCren and H. H- Hennah, Esq.’s) DBCNKENNEBS. Two inebriates, first offenders, .were fined 6s. Walter Bell, who had been remanded for medical attention, was now discharged on payment of costs, LARCEHT. E. Richards and J. Richards were charged with stealing two wooden rails at the Railway station, Washdyke, on 11th inst. The rails were the property of the N.Z. Government, and were - valued at 2s 6d. They were each fined 10s and expenses, in default three days* imprison- < ment. The accused chose the alternative. wife-desebtion. R. Owen was charged with having deserted his wife and children. It appeared that the wife and children had subsisted on charity for some weeks past. ' ‘ The accused was discharged on condition that he should repay the amount that bad been dispensed in charity on Ibehalf of his family.
