ST. ANDREW’S PUBLIC SCHOOL.

The children attending St. Andrews’ Public School held their annual pic-nic on Boxing Day, in a paddock near the Pareora Homestead, kindly lent for the occasion by the Manager, Mr McPherson. The Committee had provided an abundance of good things, which were highly appreciated by the children and their friends. Prizes hud been provided for races by the scholars, which were keenly contested ; various games were indulged in during the day and were thoroughly enjoyed by all. The children and their friends re-assembled at the School at 7.30 p.m., and were pleasantly entertained with vocal and Instrumental music. Avaluable present was given to each of the scholars* in number, each one drawing a'ticket frOnv a bag, numbered correspondingly to a number on the present received. ’ The presents consisted of books and articles ornamental and useful, ragging in value
