COMMERCIAL.

S. 0. Times Office, Saturday Evening. Messrs Maclean and Stewart report for the past week as follows, viz.:— Horses—An average entry of about 40 horses was to-day booked at their yards for sale, but there was a total absence of any demand for the different lots offered, and almost no business was done, They quote prices much the same as last week, and do not anticipate any change till the approach of harvest, when it is likely prices will harden.

Sheep—Store sheep are in good demand and prices are still improving, The holidays during the week have interfered with business somewhat, but several large transactions are pending. They have had no auction sales this week, and have no change in prices to report, Fat sheep are now rather more plentiful, though prices do not seem to be affected, as full rates are being obtained, They quote prime mutton at about 3d per lb. Cattle—There is a good demand for store cattle, and prices are somewhat better this week, Feed has become so abundant that almost all kinds of cattle are being purchased, and inconsequence a slight rise has taken place in values. They have no transactions of importance to report. Pat cattle—Prime quality beef is worth 25s per 1001 b.
