Freights to London, steamer, 45s nominal ; do, sailing, 35s ; freights to United Kingdom from Adelaide, Bailing, 37s to 40s ; do. from outports, 40s to 425. A question has been raised here regarding the validity of the appointment of Mr G. H. Reid to a seat in the Exe. cutive Council, to which he was appointed in January last, with the port* folio of Minister of Public Instruction, It is affirmed that Mr Reid’s seat in the Legislative Assembly is jeopardised by virtue of the Constitution Act, nnder which no provison is made for the appointment in question.
