The Melbourne manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of Now Zealand (Limited), reports on the local grain market as follows: Shipping wheat is in fair demand at 4s 5d to 4s G'.l; milling barley, 3s 9d to 4s 3d, prices nominal ; New Zealand oats arc in limited reqnest, and prices are barely maintained ; feeding do, 2s lid to 3s Id ; milling do, 3s 2d to 3s 3d; New Zealand oats under, bond, 2s 2d to 2s 4d. ShippingArrived, this morning—Union steamer Waihora, from the Bluff. Political* Mr F. Brown, a barrister-at-law, has been returned to the Legislative Council for the North-Eastern Province, the seat which was rendered vacant by the death of the Hon. B. J. Anderson. French Escapees. Sydney, Nov. 28, The French escapees from New Caledonia, who arrived in great distress, admit that they were convicted of felony.
