(Before J. Beswick, Esq., R.M., E, G. Stericker, Esq.), and O. J. A. Hazleden Esq.) DISOBEYING ORDERS. John Tozer was charged with neglecting to support bis children at the Industrial School. James Johnson w*as similarly charged In (lie former case, accused having paid in £l, and promising to pay the balance of £2 within a week, an adjournment for seven days was granted. The charge against Johnson, was withdrawn, he having paid up. BREACH OR THE LICENSING ACT. W. Dale was charged, on the information of the police, with committing a breach of the Licensing Act, clause 155, by keeping open bis licensed house, the Doncaster Hotel, Washdyße, on the 6tb inst., after 10 o’clock, to which hour he was licensed to keep open. Mr Perry appeared for the defendant, and pleaded that an extended license had been granted to the former licensee, and the defendant had presumed that the extension held good in his case. He was not aware that the necessary fee hud not been paid, or that he was trans greasing the law. In support of the defence, Mr Perry called. T. Howley, clerk to tho Licensing Committee, who proved that Mr Dale had evidently acted under a misconception of his position. The Bench decided to dismiss the case, as it was evident defendant was not to blame, but they imposed upon him the costs of witnesses, &c.
