Mails close, at the Chief Post Office Timaru, for the following places (subject t« the necessary alterations) as under Tuesday, March 20, For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Hawea, at 2.50 p.m. Wednesday, March 21. For'United Kingdom, vitl Melbourne atfd Australian Colonies, per Eotomahana, at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 22. For United Kingdom, rid Melbourne and Australian Colonies, per Tarawera, at 6 am. . Saturday, March 24. For United Kingdom, via Melbourne and Australian Colonies, per Wanaka, at 2 50 p.m. For United Kingdom’ via San Francisco Monday, March 26. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Wakatipu, at 6 a.m. On March 23 (Good Friday) all Postoffices will be closed. The telegraph offices will be open from 9to 10 a.m., and 7 to 8 p.m. On March 26 (Easter Monday) Chief Post-offices will be open as usual, but country offices aud telegraph offices will be open from 9 to 10 a.m, and 7 to 8 p.m. only.
