0.0. Tiiraa Office, Monday Evening. Messrs Maclean and Stewart report for the past week, as follows Horses—Their entry on Saturday was a small one, owing principally to the morning being wet, and for this reason several farmers’ lots which were advertised did not come forward. There was a good demand for the hotter class of draughts, and several intending purchasers , did not get their wants supplied. They disposed or every head yarded at from medium to good draughts, £2O to £33 ; hacks and light harness horses, medium to good, from iio to £lB ; light and inferior, £4 to £lO. _ Cattle—At Washdyke on Monday last the entry was under tho average, their being only a few head of fat cattle and about 100 head of stores, composed for the most part of yearlings and cows entered, for neither of which is there any demand. They sold fat heifers arid cows at from £5 17s 6d to £6 ss, equal to 20s pet lOOlba _; a pen of two and half year old steers realised £4 17s fid, and store cows from £2 to £3 15s. Sheep—The demand for store sheep of all descriptions continues brisk,and farmers who are nob already will experience considerable difficulty m finding good stores for their stubble feed. At Washdyke on Monday there was a Pair entry, chiefly small lots, most of which was disposed of; They sold 400 cross-bred ewes at 9s 6i; 228 cross-breds, 8s 9d ; 200 fat do, 12s; 196 cross-bred ewes, 9s. Skins—On Wednesday they held their fortnightly sale of skins and catalogued about 1000 and sold them at up to Is 8d for cross-breds, merinos up to Is 4d inferior fid to Is. , ~, Country Sales—On Thursday they held a clearing sale on account of Mr William Gillieapia at his farm, Washdyke. There was a pood attendance of buyers and bidding was very keen throughout the day, and with the exception of the goodwill of the lease, every line was sold at highly satisfactory prices. Draught mares and geldings fetched from £26 to £42 ; draught colts and fillies. £ls to £lB ; two-year-old steers arid heifers, £3 17s Cd to £4 £h milch cows £5 to £6 10s; merino ewes 4s 91; cross-bred lamb?, 7s Id ; implements and harness at good prices.

Messrs William Collins and Co. report a good demand for produce and sundries at their regular weekly sale on Saturday. The attendance was the largest of the season, consequently most satisfactory figures were realised. They quote freshbutter, 7d to Is rer lb; salted, IOJd, kegs extra; hams, 8d per lb; bacon, 7d; cheese, locally made, 6Jd ; onions, 9s 6d per cwt; potatoes, 55s to 60s per ton ; flour, farmers’ 18sper sack; millers, 22s per bag; fowl wheat o* to 8s per sa r, k; oats, Is 6d to 2a per bushel; lar<t, 4£d per lb; ducks, 4s per pair; ducklings, 2s 6d: fowls, 2s to 2a 9d ; geese, 8s per couple. A large entry of drapery, also the stock-in-trade of a butcher and a large quantity of household furniture were quitted at most satisfactory figures.

Messrs Foulhan and Stubbs report for the week ended Saturday as follows At auction both entries and attendance were meagre, but the demand was quite equal to the supply. Deiwent potatoes are just coming to hand, and saler were made at from 6s to 7s 61 per bag ; seconds wheat, 9s to lls per sack ; s conds barley, 2s per bushel; damaged crushed barley. 5i per sack; oats, good feed, 2s; farmers’ flour (no guarantee), lls per sack ; onions, 8s 6d to 10s per cwt; egg*, Is 3d per dozen ; fresh butter, none ; fowls, 2s Gd to 3s per pair; ducks. 3s 6d to 4s ; other poultry, none; bacon, 61 to 7d per lb ; hams, 6i to 8d : salt butter, 7d to 9.1; bran, £3 10s per ton; u sharps, £4 ss. Borne sundries in general lines of furniture, &c , brought fair prices.
