[By Teleobaph.] (Per a.B. Wairarapa at the Bluff.) Mblboitenb, Sept. 9. The proceedings in Parliament continue devoid o£ interest. Sydney. St. Mary’s Cathedral was opened for public worship yesterday (Friday). Ten Bishops took part in the ceremony, including the Bishop of Wellington,
who preached on the occasion. The i services will last three days.
The ironworkers of Sydney threaten 1 to strike. The men demanded 2d an hour extra pay.; the masters offered Id, and the men then offered to compromise , by accepting Hd. This the masters refused, and hence a strike is imminent. It will involve ultimately 800 men. Sir A. Gordon was released, from quarantine on Thursday. He leaves for England next mail.
