WASHDYKE PLOUGHING MATCH.
Last evening there was held, at the Doncaster Hotel, Washdyke, a meeting of residents interested in a ploughing match. Mr Morris Gentleman occupied the Chair, and among those present were the promoters, Messrs Davan, Goldie. Stevenson,-Mitchell and Heffernan. The Chairman reported that subscriptions were coming in, and there was every prospect of success. Over £SO was already in hand. In consequence of the undavoidable absence of several supporters of the movement,the meetingjwas adjourned'to eight o’clock on Monday night, when a plan of operations will be definitely decided upon.
