Among tlie recent visitors to Samoa, who arrived by the j last ''Talune" was Mrs. M. Craig-McKerrow, of Knights- ': bridge, Loudon. j Mrs, Craig-McKerrow is an j American lady, but has been j resident in England (or some ' years past, and is seeking i recuperation in rest and travel, j after heavy war work in' Lou- | don where she- controlled a I hospital for wounded officers j and soldiers. After a short stay \ in Samoa, Mrs Craig-McKer- \ row intends to go on to Suva and from thence on to Sydney, Java, Singapore and way I ports en route to England, where she hopes to arrive j about May, 1920, completiug j an absence of 18 mouths. On being asked her imprcs- ; sious of Samoa, Mrs. Craig- j McKerrow remarked that what ' impressed her so tar was the | wonderful beauty and fertility j of the island and the splendid deportment of the Samoan l women. Mrs. Craig-McKerrow is considerably handicapped in moving about as freely as she j would Tike, owiug to a sprained ; ankle, the result of an acci- J dent -irr Suva while taking j physical exercise. She is at , present staying at the Central I Hotel and as far as her accidental indisposition will [ allow her, is enjoying her I stay here immensely. j

Miss Pattriek, who has been enjoying a prolonged stay in Apia, as the guest of * her brother, Mr. P. E Pattriek, of "Casino," will return to NewZealand by the next steamer.

Mr. Eceles, the manager of Messrs, A. kelson and Sou returned to Samoa by the last steamer, after a two months holiday in .New Zealand. Mrs Eceles- will remain in New Zealand to recuperate.

Mr. aud Mrs. Hay-Mackenzie returned "home 1 ' by the last Talune, after four mouths' absence in New Zealand.

Queen Salote Tubeu of Touga had consigned to her by the last steamer a fiveseater Overland car. Hitherto Queen Salote has travelled round her capital by horse and ta'avale. It is interesting to state that the Queen is a splendid specimen of her race, being over six feel in height. and only I 9 years of age. Her dignity and deportment is something to be admired, and her popularity among the Tougans is undoubted" The baby Crown Prince, just one year old, is a decidedly robust and healthv child.

Capt. Bethune Annaudale (Royal Scots Greys) who returned to Samoa by the last Talune, is well known locally as beiug interested in. cocoa planting. Capt. Aunaudale has -spent four and a half years at the Front.

Mr. N, Paterson, LL.B, of the staff of the Magistrate's Court, Wellington, has been transferred to Apia and arrived by the Talune last week.
