Leigh "V's"

The monthly meeting of the above was held at Mrs Jim Wyatt's residence on Dec. 15th. Miss Marjorie Horton presided over a fair attendance. The meeting opened with choruses, followed by the Bible-read-ing and prayer. The minutes of the last meeting Were read and confirmed, correspondence read and business dealt with. After a discussion it was decided that a letter be sent to the Minister of Defence re wet canteens, asking that the rights of the men be respected, and that no one be encouraged to take alcoholic liquors. The motto for the month was given by Mavis Horton, "Sow Good Services and Sweet Eememberances will Grow from them," A temperance reading by Mr J. V. Wyatt was given after which all stood and re-affirmed the pledge.,* one new member was initiated. Hymn and henedication closed a good meeting. Supper was held at the conclusion.
