Albertland Dairy Company

The Albertland .Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd.," will 'make an advance payment on the 20th inst. for cream supplied during January at the rate of '9^d per 1b of .butterfat for superfine quality, with the usual deductions follower grades and for share capital. lAs there was. an abundance of feed in the Company's ,■ territory, . the output lzv this Janaaiy was from 9 to 10 tons greater than January last year. The recent sjorm and flood did net'interfere greatly wilh the Oompay's ■operations, except that the butte.r had to be held in the Company's freezing chamber for nearly a week instead of being railed away three times a week. Heavy, Stock Traffic. The past week has been a vevy busy one for the iocai carriers and the Railway Department. A large number of the sheep and lambs sold at -the recent sheep fairshad to be transported by road or rail. Owing to the great demand for sheep trucks, there were not sufficient two-decker trucks available on the railway and use had to be made of open waggons (L and La) to transport sheep and pigs. Great credit is due to the railway department and its staff m transporting the stock 'at rush seasons. Many of the local carriers had to work long hours in transporting lambs and rams for local buyers in addition to the regular work. February and-Mar,ch are always two of the heaviest months for the carriers.. ' . Main North Road. Good progress has been made with the, removal of spoil from th c in any slips on th c Ma in Nor th road between Dome Valley 'and Way by,- but there are thousands of yards yet to be moved.
