Sheep Fair

There was a record yarding of over 5000 sheep at the sheep fair held on the 7th inst., hy the North Auckland Fanners' Co-operative, Ltd. Owing to the blockage on the railway no Southern buyers were present, but practically the whole yarding changed hands at ruling values. The demand was good for all good lines of wethers, ewes and store lambs. A feature of the sale was the purchase of small lines by local dairy farmers, and each season sees an increase in the number of sheep kept on the daiiy farms of the district. Values were: —Best 2-tooth Romney ewes, ■29/ to 30/; good 2-tboth ewes, 24/9 to 27/6 ; best 4-tooth ewes, to 30/ ; good 4 tooth ewes, 22/6 to 25/; good 6-tooth ewes, 21/ to 25/; 350 fullmouth ewes, 17/ ; 95 5-year ewes, 19/6; poorer 5-year ewes, 15/ to 17/0; aged ewes, 12/9 to 13/6; cull ewes, 8/6 to 9/; best 4-tooth wethers, 26/6 ; good 2-tooth wethers, 20/ to 21/; 93 good 4-tooth wethers, 22/8 ; good shorn ewe lambs, Corriedale, ex Mr Duck, 16/11 ; similar wethers, 13/7; killable woolly lambs, 20/; good woolly lambs, 15/4 to 16/10; poorer, 11/6; cull lambs, 7/ to 9/6; best shorn lambs, 13/9; poorer, 11/ to 12/; Southdown rams, 2j to sgns.; Romney rams, lgn. to ljgns.; 6-tooth Corriedale rams, 20/ ;eull rams 6/ to 11/.
