HUNTERVILLE NOTES.

From Our Own Correspondent, The returned soldiers of Poukiore gave a return dance to the ladies of the district in Mr Coleman's woolshed on Friday evening .last in recognition of services rendered the boys while at the front and on their return to New Zealand. The hall was beautifully decorated with flags and evergreens which lent colour tc the occasion, when the hall was crowdßd to its utmost extremity with dancers from all parts of the district. These dances are becoming most popular, especially with the younger sex, and have great prospects for the future. The returned soldiers themselves are deserving of great praise for the splendid manner in which they conducted and arranged the complete programme, which wa? entirely in their hands. As waiters they excelled themselves, the ladies looking on in astonishment. A movement is on foot to ereot a spacious hall which will accommodate the danoars, the present hall being rather small to cope with the demand. Mr W. Howe provided the musical programme for the dances, and Mr Cal.~ Coleman officiated as M.C. Dancing was kept up till 2 a.m.
