He read a letter from the Prince of Wales, President of the General Committee, stating that Government had decided to introduce a Bill providing £IOO.OOO to the Exhibition Guarantee Fund conditionally on at least half a million sterling being otherwise guaranteed. The Priuce hoped at least a million sterling would be guaranteed. Lord Milner urge! that the Exhibition must be on a vast scale, befitting the Empire aMd thoroughly characteristic of the resources of the Empire. He emphasised that the Exhibition would have social and national, as well as economic value, and make for the interdependence of various parts of She Commonwealth. Sir George Perley, High Commissioner for Oan.>jdn, promised the hearty support of Canada, Mr Watt, Treasurer of the Australian Commonwealth, moved a resolution cordially endorsing the proposal to hold an Exhibition iu London during 1923. Sir Robert Home o v i3 the Board of Trade and other Government Departments had determined to give the Exhibition overy support in their powor. He emphasised the necessity of in everj' way developing markets for British products. The resolution was carried with two dissentients.
