* STOCK REPORT. The N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co , Ltd., report having held their fortnightly sale in the Huntervillo yards on Thursday last, when a large yarding of cattle and a small entry of sheep came forward. Pricos for sheep were decidedly firm and cattle showed a decided improvement on recent sales, and as a result practically the whole yarding was cleared under the hammer. We quote:—M.s. lambs goojd to 20s, aged ewes in forward condition 18s, mixed aged ewes 25s 6d, rising 4yr bullocks £l3 15s to £ls, 3*£yr do. £ll 4a, 3><yr steers to £6 3s, 18-months steers’ £4 16s to £6, weaner steers £3 11s, weaner heifers £2 11s, mixed weaners 35s to 425. A nice pen of springing heifers realised £l3 15s, forward cows £8 to £lO 10s, cows and calves £6 ss, weaner pigs 29s Gd to 325, older sorts to 3£. At our Taihape sale on Friday last 3000 sheep and 40 head cattle were yarded. Competition for all classes of sheep was keen and every line_ in the yards w,as disposed of at prices satisfactory to the vendors. Wo quote:—4yr ewes age guaranteed 39a 7d, 4 and syr ewes 18s 3d to 25s 9d, poor conditioned ewes 7s 9d to 15s, 3fch ewes good 31s, do. small 28s lid, 3th wethers 30s 4d, 4th wethers 32s lOd, mixed lambs woolly to 31s, shorn lambs good sorts 16s Id to 17s 3d, good medium lambs 13s 8d to 15s, b.f. lambs small fair condition to 13s lOd, cull lambs 7s 4d, Romney rams 25s to 355, Lincoln rams 30s, %% yr steers good condition £8 10s, steers £ll 18s, 18-months heifers small £3 2s.

Tho same firm also report having held their fortnightly sale at Marton on Monday last, when a total yarding of 3600 sheep and 17 head of cattle came forward. There was a large attendance of buyers and competition for lambs was ex* ceptioually keen. Practically the whole yarding was cleared at prices satisfotory to vendors. We quote:— 4yr ewes good condition 27s Bd, 4 and 6th ewes medium 25s 4d, forward ewes 25s 6d, 4th ewes medium 26s Bd, 2th ewes 265, 2th wethers 26s 2d to 28s 4d, wether lambs good 23s Id, mixed lambs 18s to 20s 3d, medium lambs 14s 9d, 18-months to 3 yr heifers r. w. b. £6 15a to £7 10s, mixed weaners 20s to 555.
