EDITH CAVELL’S STATUE.

United Press Associatiou~By Elec trie Telegraph—Copyright London, March 17 Queen Alexandra unveiled a statue of Edith Cavell in Trafalgar Square on the Island site where Gordon’s statue stood prior to its removal to Khartoum. The statue was erected by Daily Telegraph subscriptions and is cut out of whitemarble and shows Nurse Cavell standing erect in her nurse’s uniform. There was a distinguisned Anglo-Belgian gathering. Queen Alexandra, in welcomiug the Belgian delegation, drew attention to the blending of the Anglo-Belgian flags on the statue as symbolical of perpetual friendship between the two nations.
