TURAKINA NOTES..
. i ’ in—f ■—** From Our Own. Correspondent, The death took place in Wanganui Hospital last Friday of one Of our residents, Mrs Ghadfield. Mr and Mrs Ghadfield came out from England a few years ago, and after a short residence in Taranaki cam<j to Tur&tina about two years ago. The deceased lady was well liked by all. She enjoyed apparently good health until a few we’eka ago when she had to be convoyed to the hospital. The funeral took place in the local cemetery on Monday, the Rev W. S. Williams officiating. Mueh sympathy is felt for Mr Ghadfield in his bereavement. The two assistant lady teachers in the public school are both laid aside with influenza. It is of a mild type in both cases. A few other eases have occurred, also mild, so there is nothing to be alarmed about. Harvest Thanksgivfhg . services were held in connection with the Presbyterian Church on Sunday At Bonny Glen and Makirikiri there were good attendances andthe churches were tastefully decorated. The collection at Bonny Glen amounted to over £l7 and at Makirikiri to over £l2. This makes the total for the parish about £55. The members and adherents have also contributed about £7u lor the Special Home Mission Fund This is a good record for the church.
