THE MEAT GLUT.

Per Press Association . Christchurch, March 17. A meeting of representatives of Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Associations was held to consider a letter from the Board of Agriculture concerning the meat glut. It was resolved that this meeting wishes to impress on Government thl necessity for supplying the delegates to the proposed conference with full information as to the conditions which had resulted in the present congestion of storage of meat, also the desirability of Now Zealand being represented on the Board of Control of Shipping. It was also resolved that the commandeer should continue until the works in New Zealand are cleared of the present stocks of meat, shipping under control, and the producer in a position to operate in the open markets; delegates to the conference to have a free hand in the conference deliberations on the shipping question , and that J D Hall and J O Coop be delegates. In regard to sending' home a Commission the meeting agreed that a man specially chosen from the Dominion because of his knowledge of the subject should be selected to act with the High Commissioner.
