SING SING BURGLED. Authorities in Sing Sing prison have been searching for clever thieves who opened the safe in the prison office and took £BO in savings stamps—property of one of the prisoners. They think it was an “outside job. ’’ 40 PERSONS SAVED IN NETS. Forty people were saved in Berlin from being burnt to death in a tire and panic that broke out in a crowded restaurant in the centre of the city only by jumping from upper windows into the firemen’s nets. The number is a record one to be saved by this means in the history of the Berlin Fire Brigade.
