AMUSEMENTS.
CHAUTAUQUA. Chautauqua in Marton becomes more popular with each session. The audiences both afternoon and evening on Saturday vverfe very large The Zedeler Symphonic Quintette was still more brilliant on Saturday, and in response to rounds of applause extended the programme. Miss Helen Fortune again sang, and was even better than the previous evening. She was recalled again and again. Mr M O. Reid lectured on “The Value of a Vision.” in which he urged a more,optimistic outlook. The success of a man’s life depended on his vision. Some people took a great deal of pleasure in having a bad time. Ninety-five pei cent of the troubles of the whole world never happened at all, and there were some people who had a better time at a funeral than at a wedding. A more cheerful view and hard work would bring success. During the evening Mr do Berry’s assertion that Chautauqua was coming again was greeted with applauseu-as was his reference to the merits of the per* formanoes of the past three days. An appeal for guarantors for next year’s'Chautauqua met with a hearty response.
