CHAUTAUQUA.

The Chautauqua will present the well known Lyric Quartette, which has been ’said to be the best male quartette* in New Zealand, for its opening musical attraction. Many musical critics say the Lyric cannot be excelled £or four part harmony, and their individual work stands out as the highest type of musical recital. It is indeed fortunate that the Marton people have the opportunity to hear this musical organisation, along with many other splendid attractions at the Chautauqua sessions. The Lyric Four present a full musical programme on the opening afternoon. In the evening a musical prelude will be followed by a highly interesting and instructive lecture by Dr Arthur Carpenter. Dr Carpenter is recognised as one of America’s greatest popularisera of Astronomy.
