OHINGAITI NOTES.

Ohingaiti Defence Rifle Club held tbeir half-yearly shoot for the Bertram Challenge Belt on Saturday last, Rifleman H. Paget again secnr- " ing it, this being twice in succession. The shooting was not good owing to unfavourable weather conditions. The sun was bright with a strong wind sweeping the range. There was not a big attendance owing to shortage of rifles. Those who continue to shoot are using worn-out barrels, but the Club is looking forward to getting new barrels and rifles shortly,, as there are quite a number of vouug shooters ready to take the field as soon as they get rifles. Ohingaiti will then have a very much stronger club. At present there are over thirty members. Following are the scoies :
