ORGANISATION FOR PEACE.
London, Oat. 9. Mr Brownlie, chairman of the executive of the Amalgamated Society of Engineers, in an interesting review of the question of increased output, urges 'the- need for the dissemination of accurate information, ahd emphasises the inoperative need for the organising of the nation’s man power to produce the requisites of peace, as the man power was organised tor increasing production in wartime. It must be appreciated, he says, that wages are paid out of production, and that therefore low production spells low sagea. He concludes by.stating that the lowness of production is largely due to the antiquated equipment of industries, and faulty workshop organisation, which causes great waste of physical energy. He urges that all labour should be fully employed on useful work, and that that section of society which- does not labour should be called on to earn its daily bread.
