MARTON SWIMMING CLUB

The annual meeting of above Club was held last evening, Mr S. J. Gibbons presiding over a fair attendance of members.

TTiq balance sheet as follows, was adopted:— CLUB ACCOUNT—Receipts: Cash ' at Bank £9 4s 6d; refund from Marton Borough Council £9 3s 4d; subscriptions, and donations £l6 14s; proceeds from sports £ll 9s 7d. Total £461 Is sd. Expenditure: Stamps, etc., 28s 6d ; brooms 15s; mantles and globes 30a; cord 8s 6d ; Bank charges 10s; printing, etc. £4 4s 6d; car hire for competitors to Wanganui £4; trophies £4 4s 6d; rent Coronation Hall 18s; cv. balance £2B 17a sd. Total £46 11s sd.

BATH ACCOUNT—Receipts: Foes received £23 13s; dr. balance £l9 7s. Total £43. Expenditure: Salary caretaker £39 , lime and cement £1 ; advertising £3. Total £4B, The following officials were elected for -the ensuing year:— Patron, Mr B. Newman; president, Mr R. E, Beckett; vice-.presidauts, Messrs S. J. Gibbons, J. ,H. Miles, A. ThOms, G. Morris, Jas, Wilson, E, Llovd, F. L. de Berry, G. A. Gamman, H. H. Richardson, and C, Haddock; hon. secretary, Mr A. V. Brown ; assistant secrteary, Mr R. F, McKenzie; hon. treasurer, Mr A. Way; general committee, Messrs J. MoCoskery, R. F. Wood, F. S. Lawrence, A. Hunt, .J. G. Blackwell, E. Hutchins, W. H. Burgess, S. Hunt, R. Rivers, J. Dudley, S. WelK, E. F. Jones, F. Stansbury, P. Gorrie, B. Davenport, J. Gibnous, H. Gordon and R. Sutcliffe. A sum of five guineas was voted Mr A. V. Brown tor past services as secretary. Mr Horace Little,, an old Marton boy an,d swimmer, donated one guinea tojthe Club’s first carnival, which was received with acclamation. He also promised to help the Club along on any occasion in which it was possible to bri?ag a team from Wellington and assist at swimming sports. Club’s subscriptions were fixed as follows:—Gentlemen 2s 6d ; ladies ls6d; children Is, which entities members to admission to Club sports.

•Appointment of caretaker was left to tne secretary and treasurer to arrange. Following hours were adopted : Males: 6.30 to 8 a.m. ; 4 to 6.30 p.m. (daily, except Wednesdays and Sundays); Sundays, 9.30 to 11.45 a.m. ; and for adults only 2 to 4 p.m. ; Wednesdays, 5.30 to 6.0 p.m. Ladies : Mondays and Thursdays, 2 to 3 p.m, ; Tuesdays and Fridays 3 to 4 p.m. ; Saturdays, 10.15 a.m. to 1 p.m,, and 2to 4 p.m. ; Sundays, 8 to 9.30 a.m.

School Children, free.—^Girls: Tuesdays and Fridays, 3 to 4 p.m. Boys: Mondays and Thursdays, 3to 4 p.m. Mixed Bathing: 6.33 to B?a.m., daily, except Sundays; Wednesdays, 2 to 5.30 p.m. Fees.—Season’s tickets: Family, £1 Is ; men, 7s 6d; ladies ss; children, 3s 6d. Monthly ticket, adults, 3s. Single bath : Adults 3d; school children Id. c

The opening day of the baths : was left to a sub-committee consisting of Messrs A. Way, A. V. Biown, F. S. Lawrence and R. F. Wood. A vc.ce of thanks was accorded the chairman.
