A'despatch from Tokio states that Baron Tnnakoshi, Leader of the Op position, speaking in the Diet, said that if the Government was forced to abandon ■ the Japanese settlement in Kaiochau at the behest of other Powers snch action would constitute a violation of Japanese interest in international affairs. The welfare of the nation demanded that Japan should not abandon the settlement.
