DEATH OF AN ATHLETE.
Per Press Association. Christchurch, August 115. Ronald Opic died today- at Christ.cburcii as the result of a motor accident a month ago Eight or nine years ago Opie was a prominent amateur sprinter winning the Australasia Championships, also repre seating the Dominion at the Empire Carnival in England in 1911. He was a schoolmaster, and a sou of Mr O. H. Opis, Chairman of the Education Board.
