He admitted that consumers were pujnng a high price for coal, but he was not able to sr.y if the middleman was making excessive'' profit. The Board of Trade, with the assistance of an expert was at present enquiring into this matter. Tim Minister assured the deputation of his sympathy. lie said he was hopeful that something would yst be dune to avert the dislocation of the industry.
