TURAKINA NOTES.
A combined meeting of the Patriotic and Red Cross Societies was held in the Library on Saturday evening to consider what means could be taken to raise money for the Red Cross “Copper Trail.’’ Mr H. Y. Lethbridge presided over a fair attendance. After consultation, it wps agreed to hold a sale of work and produce in the hall on some afternoon in the end of September, and also to have a concert the same evening. The proceeds to go to the Copper Trail. The milk suppliers of the different creemeries, no doubt rejoiced in the increased returns the war has ; brought them, have been holding i socials and dances io their respective I districts. The Tnrakina suppliers of ■ the local creamery were urged to i follow this example and responded, i holding a social and dance on FriI day evening A good gathering of i the members rf tli - creamery, their | wives a’d families, and friends, ■ met together and spent an onjcy- ! able eve _lug.
