Powell —4 bed jackets, 13 treasure bag. flO slings, J pair hand knitted by Willie Healy ’{SA very handsome Red Cross autograph quilt was sent in by this guild. On it are worked the names of many local and district people. The sight of these familiar names will, it is hoped, afford much pleasure and interest to those of our sick and wounded men, who may happen to be in the hospital for which it is intended. In accordance with the wish of donors the quilt will be forwarded to the 27th General Hospital, Abbassia, Egypt, Kia Ora Sewing Bee, per Mrs Ensom, 1 hand knitted sweater, 3 hand knitted balaclavas, 2 hand knitted scarves, 14 pyjama suits, 23 surgical towels, 31 face cloths, 23 manitailed bandages. Kura-o-Tane Sewing Bee, per Mrs Grey, 3 pairs hand knitted mittens, 3 pairs hand knitted socks, 8 hand knitted comforters, 17 hand knitted balaclavas, 4 hand knitted chest protectors, 1 hand knitted comforter ana balaclava combined, 8 pyjama suits, 5 bed jacxets, 8 triangular bandages, 25 treasure bags, 6 khaki shirts, 16 manitailed bandages. The knitting has been done by the following children Rena Campbell, Doris Exeter, “Yera Bowick, Nora Brennan. Abel assisted by Misses Chisholm, Roper, Livingstone, and Bntement £122 5s 9d—Of this amount £50 4 was sent to the Rea Cross Commissioner, London for the jgwelfare of ; New Zealand soldiers in France —and £SO was cabled to Paletsine for Red Cross comforts forN.Z. soldiers in that country.
